Dementia Nurse Specialist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1 year secondment or fixed term contract for an exceptional individual who has experience of providing specialist dementia care to join our Admiral Nurse team at Hampshire Hospital Foundation Trust.

Dementia Specialist Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work within the acute care setting working with and supporting families and carers of people with dementia

Main duties of the job

Dementia Specialist nurses offer expert practical, clinical and emotional support to families involved in the care of a person living with dementia with complex needs. They will work alongside and be supported by the Trusts Admiral Nurses.

You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams, adult services and third sector providers. You will benefit from being part of our wider inter-trust mental health team.

We are looking for an exceptionally skilled, Registered Nurse (adult/mental health/learning disability) with a passion for, and demonstrable track record of, providing person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care with a strong sense of advocacy and equalities for this client group.
