Job summary
We are looking for Staff Nurses to work over 4 areas: DTC / CWU / MDU, (with rotation into Dove Unit) who would also be expected to work towards administration of chemotherapy.
To also develop skills with Picc and Hickman line care, Venepuncture and Cannulation, if not already competent.
This role initially will be primarily in the outpatient setting working across all days, but with a view to rotate into the inpatient department and this would include shifts from Day shifts /Night shifts and weekends and will include long days.
Main duties of the job
We provide highly specialised care for adults who have both a cancer and non-cancer diagnoses and cover a wide range of both medical, haematological and oncology diseases. Staff in this friendly and supportive team develop a range of advanced clinical skills and knowledge by rotating between the departments within the service.
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop as a trained chemotherapy nurse. You will be supported in your development by the nursing team and chemotherapy educators to become competent in care of the cancer patient, including blood and IV administration and the safe administration of chemotherapy.
Oncology or haematology experience is desirable, but not essential, as we are looking for high calibre nurses with potential. Successful candidates will receive local orientation and on-going specialty training and support.
