Job summary
Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is excited to offer a newly created Consultant Psychiatrist post for our male acute in-patient ward--Waveney--at Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich.
The ward is reopening soon following refurbishment, providing 15 male acute beds for adults aged 18-70. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a new team, develop the service, and hone your leadership skills within a supportive new locality leadership structure and a collaborative MDT.
Main duties of the job
As Consultant on Waveney Ward you will:
- Provide admission, assessment, and treatment for male adults (18-70) with severe mental disorders
- Care for both voluntary and detained patients under the Mental Health Act
- Work alongside substantive Specialty Doctors
- Lead and develop the new ward team
- Participate in the Consultant on-call rota
You will have:
- GMC registration
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (CCST) in Adult Psychiatry, or within three months of completion
