Job summary
Locum Consultant. 10 PA's per week. Fixed term for 12 months.
We are looking for a locum Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in diabetes to join our exceptional Bolton NHS Foundation Trust team to cover maternity leave. It is anticipated that the post would be for 12 months.
We are looking for a highly motivated colleague with excellent communication and team working skills who wants to deliver the best care for our local paediatric population. The post holder should have a special interest in paediatric diabetes, as well as a broad training in general paediatric medicine.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job include delivering unscheduled care in the Children and Young Person's unit, comprising an admission and observation unit and inpatient ward, carrying out child protection medical assessments requested by social care under section 47 of the Children's Act, providing rapid access and outpatient clinics, and the supervision and training of resident doctors and advanced nurse practitioners. Non-resident on-call duties will be included.

Additionally, they should be holder of Certificate of Completion of Training or be within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by the date of interview. Development of an area of special interest will be encouraged. The post holder will be expected to participate in hot week, on-call and safeguarding rotas, and to undertake resident evening shifts. The successful candidate is expected to undertake clinics at Royal Bolton Hospital following the planned move back to site from the current city centre location.
