Band 5 Biomedical Scientist/Healthcare Science Practitioner
Full time 37.5 hours per week. Permanent post.
Applications are invited for a band 5 HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists or AHCS registered Healthcare Science Practitioner to join our professional team.
You will be expected to support the department in ensuring a high quality service that meets national standards and expectations for fetal anomaly screening programme (FASP).
Main duties of the job
You will perform routine procedures involving scientific, technical and interpretive work to assist midwives and clinicians. Communication with users of the service will also play a role in the day to day work.

Bolton Antenatal screening laboratory is one of the largest in the country and undertakes screening for the north west of England, the Midlands and Scotland, currently processing around 53,000 samples per annum for calculating the chance of Down's, Edwards' and Patau's syndromes per annum.
The laboratory is equipped with three Perkin Elmer AutoDELFIA analysers and a Perkin Elmer Delfia Xpress analyser. The laboratory uses Perkin Elmer Life Cycle software and is fully UKAS ISO 15189 accredited.
