Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical lead for the High Impact Substance Misuse Team (HISMT) to take a lead role in service developments and managing a designated group of staff.

You will have a number of years' experience working in addiction services and will be clinically experienced in treating and managing clients in the areas of alcohol and drug misuse. Dual diagnosis is prevalent in the patient group.

As a member of the team, you will reinforce the approach agreed by the team for each of the Service User's they come into contact with and deliver treatment programmes relevant to their skills and expertise. The HISMT will act as a gateway between acute services to mainstream addiction services and recovery programmes

Key Role and Responsibilities

You will be a member of the HISMT, a multidisciplinary team, working to support people who present in A&E or are admitted in relation to alcohol and / or drug misuse. In the main the management plans for individual service users will be agreed by the multidisciplinary team and will have a focus on supporting people in the community, including the Integrated Neighbourhood Team to reduce their activities in relation to alcohol and drug misuse, consequently reducing the need for individuals to present to acute care services outside of HISMT.

Main duties of the job

Co-ordinate clinical activities of team on a day to day basis, liaising particularly with relevant services provided by Greater Manchester West Mental Health Trust Lead on planning and management of individuals referred to team, ensuring a sensitive approach tailored to individual's needs.

Ensure good communication with all stakeholders within and outside of the Trust, assisting in development of relationships with 3rd sector organisations to help promote a supportive framework for holistic treatment/recovery pathways.

Contribute to the development of services

Contribute to quality improvement

Support people's equality, diversity and rights

Assess people's health and well-being needs when those needs are complex and change across the caseload

Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice

Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members

Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources
