Head of Income and Costing (Fixed Term/Secondment)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Income & Costing to lead our Trust's Income and Costing team. This is a key leadership role within the Finance Directorate, providing strategic and operational oversight of all aspects of income management, costing, and financial analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Trust's financial sustainability and to shape the future of our financial planning and performance framework.
Reporting directly to the Operational Director of Financeand deputising as required, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate income reporting, developing robust costing information, and providing high-quality financial advice to support clinical and operational decision-making across the Trust.
We are looking for a dynamic and confident finance leader who can operate effectively across income and costing. You'll bring strong influencing skills, a commercial and analytical mindset, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clinical and operational leaders. We are seeking a professionally qualified accountant who has gained experience in income and costing from within the NHS .
Main duties of the job

Lead and develop the Trust's Income and Costing team, ensuring high-quality reporting and analysis.

Oversee internal and external income reporting, including management of contractual income and financial flows.

Provide expert costing and income advice to clinical and operational teams, supporting strategic and business planning.

Lead on the production and interpretation of patient-level costing (PLICS) data to inform service improvement and value-for-money assessments.

Support the delivery of the Trust's Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) by identifying key focus areas through benchmarking and performance analysis.

Manage income forecasting and contribute to business planning and financial sustainability initiatives.

Deputise for the Operational Director of Finance and contribute to the wider leadership of the Finance Directorate.
