Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and engaging People Development Trainer to join our dynamic Training Team which provides both Leadership & Management and Learning & Development Training for employees within the Trust.

In this role, you will inspire employees at all levels through the delivery of highly engaging content, presented through different methods. You will be innovative when creating and translating immersive learning - both remotely and face to face.

Working closely with fellow trainers and leads you will help build our employees capabilities through impactful training solutions aligned to our organisational objectives.

This role is fast paced, which will require you to be agile and energetic, but the work is very rewarding.

We believe that work should be a great place to be for everyone and we will support you and your continuing personal development with regular one to ones and an annual appraisal, ensuring you are signposted to all the training courses and support that is available to you.

Main duties of the job

  • To collaborate and work with fellow trainers and the Senior Trainer to design and deliver training programmes and courses -you'll need to able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Create engaging learning experience for diverse audiences, both in-person and online - this is key as it's what we are about
  • Develop inspirational course materials incorporating organisational values and latest design principles
  • To be innovative, with the ability to 'think differently'
  • To communicate with individuals both internal and external at all levels - you will need to do so with confidence and integrity whilst living and breathing our culture and our care values
  • Have strong planning and organisational skills - these are necessary in helping to design and plan training programmes
  • To be adept at building relationships and quickly obtaining the trust and respect of employees within the team and across the Trust

  • Knowledge of teaching and learning theory and best practices in effectively delivering training
  • Specialist knowledge in planning, creating, leading and evaluating training events, designed to effectively meet the identified learning needs of a multidisciplinary and diverse workforce
  • Knowledge of current developments in training media and presentation techniques to maximise the effectiveness of resources and the flexibility of access to training
  • Broad knowledge of HR processes, such as appraisals
  • IT literate and good knowledge of IT Packages

  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience
  • Training, teaching or facilitation qualification or relevant experience
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development

  • Significant experience of developing, planning, organising and delivering of training programmes
  • Experienced in group facilitation skills to maximise the benefits of effective group working

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure to deliver a high-quality training service, which covers a diverse range of subjects, to staff working within all disciplines in the Trust
  • Able to problem solve and analyse data
  • To be innovative, with the ability to 'think differently' and challenge current behaviours and mindsets
  • Experience of leading and managing a wide range of training courses
