The Radiology Directorate has a full range of modern specialty imaging services. All our general x-ray rooms are DR. We operate over two sites, which includes Ellesmere Port Hospital. This is where our newly opened Community Diagnostic Hub (CDH) is located. In the CDH we have CT/MRI/Ultrasound and plain film departments. This enables us to provide the best possible diagnostic service for our patients.
The CT department currently has 3 Canon CT scanners (2 at the Countess and 1 at Ellesmere Port). At the Countess we have the Aquilion ONE CT scanner which is utilised to undertake CT cardiac imaging. This CT scanner allows the patients whole heart to be imaged in one beat, therefore providing the best image quality for our patients.
The CT department works closely with many specialties within the trust, especially with the cardiology and stroke teams.
The Countess of Chester Hospital is a trauma unit and the regional vascular centre.
Opportunities for postgraduate study are encouraged and supported by the Directorate, and evidence of CPD is essential.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated CT radiographer to join our friendly and dynamic team. The successful candidate would ideally need at least 12 months CT experience . This is not essential as full training will be provided.
This position will include a rotation through CT across the two sites.
On a rotational basis you will be required to partake in the emergency out of hours cover for CT, evenings and weekends.
The role will also include involvement in staff and student training to further broaden your experience.
A BSc/ DCR in Radiography is essential, and you must be registered with the HCPC.
