The East Cheshire Occupational Therapy Service delivers care in a variety of settings, including acute hospitals, rehabilitation centres and community clinics.

What we are looking for:

  • As part of the restructure of our therapy staffing across the Hospital, we are looking for an enthusiastic and well-rounded HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with experience of working in the NHS or having had extensive placements within the organisation. The post will work with patients on the Care of the Elderly wards.
  • The candidate should provide a patient centred approach to care an under pinning sound clinical specialist knowledge in evidence based assessment and management of a variety of conditions.
  • It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within trust policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.

Hours per week: 37.5 - job share application will also be considered.

Please be aware that unfortunately, this post is not suitable for students expecting results, or those awaiting HCPC registration.

Main duties of the job

As a clinical specialist provide a high standard comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment service to patients on the acute wards with complex presentation, working as an autonomous clinician, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, making diagnoses where appropriate, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression.

  • Attendance at degree level post graduate courses relevant to the specialist area e.g. communication, CBT, dementia or working towards this or be prepared to study at this level
