An outstanding opportunity for a Medical Secretary within various specialties - General Surgery, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology & Relief Secretary.

You will have medical typing qualifications and previous experience as a Medical Secretary. You will have excellent communication skills and be particularly caring and understanding. Experience in the use of Medisec, Digital Dictation, PAS and e-Referral would be an advantage.

Hours per week:General Surgery - perm 30 hours per weekGynaecology - perm 25.5 hours per weekGastroenterology - perm 16.5 hours per weekRelief Secretary - Fixed Term 6 months 22.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

To manage the office administration of the Consultant and designated medical staff and provide an efficient and effective secretarial service.

The postholder acts as the first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Consultant and their team.

The postholder requires excellent organisational skills, medical audio typing and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.

  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent, grade C (4) or above. Must include English.
  • Typing qualifications to RSAIII (Royal Society of Arts) standard.
  • Computer literate to ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) standard or equivalent.

  • AMSPAR (The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists) Diploma

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Medical secretary.
