The role of the Ward Clerk requires efficiency, enthusiasm, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and customer care skills plus a friendly and approachable manner.
The Ward Clerk is usually the first point of contact so excellent communication and customer care skills are an essential part of welcoming visitors and enabling them to form a good first impression of the department.
Having the ability to multi-task and prioritise will certainly help you when working under pressure and dealing with the demands of the role.
We are looking to for a Ward Clerk on Ward 1 which is a busy 28 bed surgical ward.
There is a friendly atmosphere on Ward 1 and we have a team who are approachable and hardworking, your role would involve supporting the clinical staff and the dedicated team.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated and organised individual who is confident communicating face to face, via the telephone and electronically.
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday 06:45 to 13:00 and 12:45 to 19:00
Hours per week: 30 Hours
Main duties of the job
You would be responsible for a comprehensive range of clerical functions and duties so good IT skills and knowledge of administration processes would be beneficial and previous experience would be advantageous, however, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
The post holder is required to work as a proactive member of the ward team and to undertake a range of duties to assist the ward team in maintaining the smooth running of the clinical area.
The post holder will liaise with and provide the multidisciplinary team with timely and accurate information required to support and maintain patient flow, under the direction of the ward manager.
