Job summary
This role will be responsible to the Planning Manager for the timely, efficient and effective management of the Annual Trust One plan, and associated projects, on behalf of the Trust, ensuring that our strategic goals, corporate objectives, performance and related outcomes/ benefits are achieved.
The role will line manage a number of Project Managers and their portfolios and provide the upwards link to inform oversight at a senior level within the organisation.
Programmes will consist of a variety of projects including some that are highly complex, of high business value and are significant to the Trust Strategy
Main duties of the job
The role is accountable for
- High level Trust One Plan creation, ensuring the development of an integrated plan with the right key milestones, sequencing and dependencies identified, to proactively monitor its progress and identify key issues and initiate appropriate corrective action as and when required
- Leading on plan related governance and reporting (aligned to corporate governance), with particular responsibility for the management of the monthly Steering Committee, ensuring completion of all documentation, and transparency of project decisions, issues, and risks, and actions necessary to progress the delivery of the plam
- Providing team leadership, setting up of appropriate programme structures, and allocating project management resource to ensure Business owners (SRO's) are supported to deliver high quality solutions that deliver required outcomes on time and budget
- Line management of project staff and contractors through full project life-cycle activities, directly supporting the development of project deliverables as required
- Working closely with the accountable Executive Sponsor (CFO) and team for costs and benefits, ensuring tracking and reporting in line with finance committee and budget requirements
- Lead on the creation and management of a portfolio pipeline to capture all medium/ long term projects, and ensure alignment with the Trust Strategy
- Assist the Planning Manager in the tracking of the One Plan vs the Strategy roadmap
