Job summary
DN Administrator
The post holder will provide administrative support to the community nursing team and act as a focal point for communication between the nursing staff, patients, referrers into the service and the multi-disciplinary team. Work independently but under the direction and guidance of the Senior Administration Manager. He/she will work in partnership with all members of the community nursing teams to ensure that patients receive an appropriate, efficient comprehensive service.
Main duties of the job
- To provide clerical support to the Community District Nursing staff.
- To provide and receive routine information, informing team members, patients, internal departments and external agencies as relevant.
- Deal appropriately and promptly with urgent messages and emails.
- Maintenance of records, both paper and computerised systems.
- To be responsible for inputting and updating computerised nursing caseloads.
- To take accurate messages including those on answer phones, exchanging information with relevant parties both verbally and in writing.
- To be responsible for maintaining accurate up to date filing systems.
- To book and upload shifts for agency and bank staff on optima as and when directed by the Cluster Matron.
- To minute take e.g. at team meetings and case conferences, type reports and letters and be responsible for distribution where relevant.
- Enter data onto and retrieve information and reports from computerised system.
- Undertake photocopying and scanning.
- Work in partnership with the community nursing teams to initiate and evaluate office working systems and implement agreed improvements.
