Job summary
This post offers the opportunity to develop experience in the Trauma and Orthopaedic specialty in a well-supported and closely supervised environment. The post-holders will be guided through the steps required to produce a systematic review for publication, an audit suitable for regional or national presentation and a research project to generate a presentation for submission to a national or international meeting and publication in a peer reviewed journal. The Fellows will be provided access to the research meeting at South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC) which is the UK's largest orthopaedic outcomes database and guided through the essential statistical methodology for research.
Main duties of the job
The post-holders will spend considerable in setting up and leading education and training for founder level doctor and GP trainees with in surgical directorate at the Trust. The post holder also work closely with Miss Stella Vig who is a national figure and director of recovery and current Clinical Director for surgical division with track record of working with trainees. The other part of the job will be spent in research and X-ray analysis within Trauma and Orthopaedic department. The post holder also will be part of junior level on call rota within trauma and orthopaedic department enjoying the experience of acute admission and pay banding attached to it. The posts are for one-year duration and are designed to optimise ranking for core surgical training applications
