Job summary

NHS LPP is seeking a proactive and experienced Category Manager to lead procurement initiatives across a designated portfolio within Estates, Facilities, and Corporate Services (EFCS). You will manage a delegated category, which includes frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), delivering strategic sourcing projects that generate measurable value for our NHS members. Main duties of the job

Developing and delivering category strategy and savings work plans.
Leading complex procurement and sourcing projects end to end.
Ensuring compliance with public procurement legislation, NHS England strategies, and UK law.
Driving value for money through process improvement and total cost of ownership modelling.
Providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to procurement challenges.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
Supporting the continuous improvement of procurement practices.
Acting as a role model, promoting professional excellence and best practice.

To develop and lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories, across a number of NHS Trusts, taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories, and contributing significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets.

To support the Assistant Category Director and team in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings across a large number of Member Trusts, by analysing current spend information to develop procurement strategies

Educated to degree level and above or equivalent in-depth experience
