Job summary
Based in the Trust Education Centre at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, the Medical and Dental Education Administrator is an exciting role providing comprehensive customer-focussed administrative support within the Medical Education Department.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in delivering high quality training by managing teaching and training programmes and overseeing quality assurance processes. They will also coordinate and administer study leave requests for medical and dental trainees and for eligible doctors of all grades.

Job responsibilities
General Administration
- Assist in the organisation of Resident Doctor induction
- Deal with face to face enquiries in the medical education office
- Along with others in the team, effectively deal with enquiries received in the Medical Education Enquiries e-mail inbox
- Help with basic training and oversight of administrative staff
- Co-ordinate and respond to enquiries relating to Clinical Attachments
- Cross-cover duties of other members of the team as required
- Attend internal and external meetings and support with paper preparation and minute taking as required
- Occasional cover of reception duties in the Trust Education Centre
- Creation of purchasing and requisition requests through the eProcurement system
- Arrange room bookings in Trust Education Centre as required
Teaching Administration
- Help plan and administer regular Trust-wide training events such as Grand Round and Schwartz Round
- Coordinate and set up weekly teaching activities, producing registers, attendance certificates and collating feedback
- Booking of courses and events, associated rooms, equipment and catering where appropriate
- Organise careers workshops for students and Resident doctors
- Produce reports on education, training and development activities as required
Study Leave Coordination
- Manage study leave requests for doctors of all grades from across RBFT
- Assist in financial administration and monitoring of study leave budgets
- Process study leave applications in accordance with NHS England and RBFT guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of study leave requests and approvals
- Use NHS England study leave management software and keep track of approvals and reimbursements
