Main duties of the job
Are you looking for an exciting finance apprenticeship role? We have an exciting opportunity in our Finance Team supporting a £1bn+ hospital Trust. The team is looking to recruit a committed individual to join as Finance Apprentice, who is enthusiastic, has great attention to detail and motivated to complete the AAT Level 3 qualification.
The 100 strong finance team provides a range of accounting services; the post holders will rotate and get experience in a couple of these services gaining invaluable experience of working in a very large, professional, committed, successful Finance Department.
As a Finance apprentice you will rotate across different finance teams, spending approx. 9 months in the service at a time. You will assist the teams in various duties including payments to suppliers, raising invoices, answering budget manager queries and reconciling control accounts. This practical experience across a wide range of financial services will provide an excellent foundation for a career in finance and the NHS.
Alongside the practical experience you will undertake a Level 3 finance apprenticeship and study Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3. Study time and off the job training will be fully supported and considered of equal importance to the work experience. UHS has developed a finance apprenticeship programme starting at Level 3 to Level 7 and a qualified accountant, allowing lots of opportunities for career development.
