Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our General Intensive Care Therapy Team on a 10-month fixed term contract and be part of our large therapy services dept.
We are major trauma centre within one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals. You would be part of a large, dynamic and supportive team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy support workers led by the Band 8a Clinical Specialist. You will work primarily on GICU supported by band 7 clinicians and will also cover Head and Neck patients on F5.
You will have many opportunities to develop as part of the wider Therapy Services department in-service training. You will be part of a large department of over 260 wte Therapy staff including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy support staff.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESThe post holder will be expected to lead the therapy team in the absence of the Band 7s, be involved in the teaching programme, service development, student supervision and the development of Band 2-5 therapy staff.
The UHS Therapy services department runs a 7-day service, using a rota system so weekend/BH working and active participation in the On-call out of hours unscheduled acute respiratory services will be expected.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FORThe successful applicant should have relevant postgraduate respiratory clinical experience with a desire to develop their knowledge and skills in the respiratory care of patients with a wide range of pathologies. Excellent support will be given towards continual learning and professional development, including undertaking regular audits.
