Band 8a Social Work Manager
We have an exciting and unique opportunity available here at Rampton Hospital, just outside Retford.
Rampton Hospital, part of the Forensic Care Group within the Trust, is an award-winning hospital, and is one of only three high secure hospitals in England.
We are the only hospital in the country to provide high secure care to patients who are women, who are deaf or who have Learning Disabilities, alongside our Mental Health and Personality Disorder treatment pathways.
Rampton Hospital is therefore a very unique place to work, with patients at the centre of everything we do.
We are seeking to recruit a Social Work Manager to join the Management Team of the Social Care Service. The Social Work Manager will provide professional support, managerial and clinical supervision to teams of Social Care Staff to meet the National Standards for Social Work in High Secure Psychiatric Care.

Main duties of the job
Rampton Hospital offers comprehensive assessment and recovery focussed individualised care and treatment packages for patients who experience a mental health disorder, personality disorder or learning disabilities combined with a history of offending behaviour.
The Social Work Manager will lead, promote and develop the Social Care Service at Rampton Hospital. They will champion the involvement of patients and their carers, promote human rights, diversity and equality of opportunity. The Social Work Manager will represent a social care perspective in directorate management forums and strategic planning.
The Social Work Manager role will have involvement in initiatives across the Forensic Care Group and Trustwide.
The Social Care Service is managed by two Social Work Managers, one of which is this post.

- To provide operational and strategic management of the Social Care Service in accordance with Nottinghamshire Healthcare and Secure Services Procedures, and National Protocols.
- To undertake professional supervision and personal development planning of Social Care staff.
- To contribute to National, Regional and Local professional agendas.
- To provide cover for the Head of Forensic Social Care as and when required.
- To participate on Trust wide committees and forums.
- To be responsible and accountable for the auditing and monitoring of the Key Performance Indicators in relation to National Standards in order to provide high quality Social Care Service.
- To review and maintain a Social Care Service strategy for Social Work Students.
- To contribute to development and review of local, regional and Trust policies and procedures
