Key role in Paediatric Audiology

Are you looking to take a step up in your career in paediatric audiology? This could be the role you are looking for. We have a vacancy for our deputy head of paediatric audiology post due to internal promotion. This is a part time position.

This is an important role in delivering specialist clinical activity in paediatric audiology with the chance to develop your leadership skills in a supportive environment. We are a large tertiary service with an active research programme.

You will be a specialist audiologist / Clinical Scientist / Healthcare Scientist with existing training and experience in paediatric audiology. If you can demonstrate a high standard of clinical abilities and a proven track record of service development, we would be interested to hear from you. You must have excellent communication skills and have a desire to find creative and effective solutions for children/young people of all ages and their families. Evidence of where you have already shown skills in leadership is expected and experience in line management would be an advantage.

We are a training department and you would be expected to take a significant role in our STP training programme.

You will have at least a BSc or MSc in Audiology or equivalent and STP (or equivalence) and be a registered clinical scientist with the HCPC. HSST would be desirable.

Main duties of the job

1. Provision of specialist services in Paediatric Audiology

2. Provision of routine Audiology services

3. To work with the Head of the Paediatric service in developing the paediatric service

4. Using knowledge and experience in the training and supervision of junior staff

5. Maintaining own professional knowledge and contribute to the clinical developments of the department.
