Senior Sister/Charge Nurse - Paediatric Outpatients

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and committed paediatric nurse to lead our team across our paediatric outpatients departments.

Our work is extremely diverse and wide ranging and is spread across several areas.

We look after children from 0-15 years old, under a number of specialities including general paediatrics, cardiac, respiratory, spinal surgery, endocrinology and gastroenterology.

Addenbrooke's is well respected both locally and as a regional specialist treatment centre.

We provide excellent care across medical and surgical specialities and sub specialities.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care in all paediatric outpatient areas within budgetary resources.
  • To assess care needs leading to the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of staff management and recruitment in line with HR policy.
  • To participate in a full range of shifts, including unit bleep rotas, ensuring a visible presence across outpatient areas.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of clinical governance and risk management with outpatient clinics.
  • To work with the senior nursing team on the agenda for children and young people seen outside of designated paediatric areas.
