Job summary
Low Vision Support Assistant needed to work within the busy Eye Clinic at Addenbrooke's Hospital. This is a vital hands-on role to support the smooth running of the Low Vision Clinic service, assisting the Optometrists and Eye Clinic Liaison Officer in meeting the needs of patients with visual impairment.
Excellent administrative and communication skills required as the assistant will act as a direct contact point for patients and liaise with support services.
You should be proactive and solution focused, be able to work efficiently and autonomously, prioritising your own workload with great attention to detail.
Experience of working with visual impairment or people with additional needs is desirable, or a genuine empathy and willingness to develop this knowledge.

This role will be office based within a clinical setting in the eye department.
Main duties of the job
Provide administrative and clinical support to the Low Vision Service. This will include signposting patients to support services, working closely with the multidisciplinary team and the Eye Clinic Liaison Officer.
