Job summary
You will be a vital contributor in our busy Trust and the clinical lead Respiratory Nurse within the TB service, both in the clinics and inpatient setting.
You will:
Take professional responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the TB/Respiratory Specialty area and associated clinical areas and wards to meet their goals.
To lead by example in Pharmacy specialisms of Respiratory/TB clinical practice and ensure a consistently high quality Clinical Pharmacy service is delivered in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
In March 2023, Health Education England agreed this RPS curriculum as equivalent to their Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice.
Main duties of the job
You will also:
1. Provide a highly specialist clinic-based extensive clinical pharmacy service to include regular reviews of drug prescriptions for Respiratory/TB patients across the Trust. There will be an element of inpatient work.
2. Actively participate in outpatient clinics for Respiratory/TB patients in the Trust.
3. Develop and implement TB policies for the Trust in conjunction with Consultant Microbiologists, Chief Pharmacist and Public Health Consultants.
4. Ensure communication with pharmacy stores staff to provide seamless medication supply for patients undergoing treatment who need a specialist input, in conjunction with the consultant microbiologist, consultants in Respiratory Medicine and other specialist staff.
