Job summary

As the Uniform Lead you will provide a comprehensive service to support the provision of uniform for all clinical, housekeeping and administration teams throughout the Papworth Trust. You will make day to day decisions regarding the running of the Uniform Store and supervise support colleagues to ensure a seamless service is maintained.

The post holder will be required to provide high level support to the clinical teams in all aspects of uniform provision, including speaking to colleagues to gain an understanding of their requirements, manage stock levels, including raising orders for special orders and stock as necessary. Make alterations to garments as required within agreed deadlines.

Main duties of the job

Ordering and receipting of stock, managing the quality of stock taken on delivery through product inspection and by collating feedback from colleagues. Assigning and distributing uniform as required to fulfil staffing needs and managing a dedicated budget.

Manage and record stock levels on a database, report costs and inventory levels quarterly and highlight supply or quality issues. Make garment repairs and alterations, including repairing zips.

Ensure effective communication and workflow in all aspects of provision of uniform for all colleagues.

Use initiative, work autonomously in referring issues to other relevant parties as appropriate, ensure confidentiality and security around stock and financial information is maintained.

Provide great customer service experience for all staff.

The post holder must ensure that identified risks are reported to the Soft Services Manager for inclusion of significant non-clinical risks in the Trust's Risk Register.

Identify and deliver service improvements with a view to enhancing quality, operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Provide secure storage of stock; record and receipt all deliveries and ensure allocation of staff uniform is assigned and recorded to balance the budgets each quarter and at the end of the financial year.

  • Level 3 Diploma in Bespoke Cutting and Tailoring (NVQ).

Experience

  • Training and experience to diploma or equivalent level
  • Experience in a Seamstress/Seamster role, involving making alterations and making garment repairs

  • Line Management Experience, including development and coaching.
