Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardio-Respiratory Department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist.

The post holder will have responsibility for and support the provision of Cardiac Physiology services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This will include working collaboratively alongside the Chief Cardiac Physiologist on the management and development of the services, staff and facilities within the trust and local Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC's).

Main duties of the job

  • Plan and perform a range of basic and complex investigations to a high level of competence on patients, creating accurate clinical reports. Clinical duties include:
    • Cardiac Cath Lab work including coronary angiography, brady pacing (inc. conduction system pacing techniques and future CRT-P service).
    • Pacemaker follow up clinics.
    • Physiologist led loop recorder implant service.
    • Home monitoring clinics (pacemakers and loop recorders).
    • Physiologist led pre-assessment clinics for implantable devices.
    • Lead on ETT, autonomic function testing and tilt testing.
    • Ambulatory ECG analysis.
    • ECG reporting
  • Support and mentor students undertaking cardiac physiology training programmes/professional assessments.
  • Participate in quality assurance, audit and research programmes.
