Specialist Surgery Outpatient Department Manager

Job summary

We are looking for a proactive and motivated nurse to lead our Specialist Surgery Outpatient team, covering Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery (OMFS), and Orthodontic Outpatient care. As Department Manager, you will be the driving force behind clinical excellence and team inspiration. Your leadership will shape the future of patient care within our Head and Neck outpatient services. The successful candidate will lead and manage outpatient services across ENT, OMFS, and Orthodontics at Rotherham General Hospital for both adults and children. You will work closely with the Matron, Leadership Team, Medical Teams, Clinical Governance Team, and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care. You will drive service improvements and support clinical governance initiatives across the department.

Main duties of the job

As department manager, you will provide effective managerial and clinical leadership within our specialist surgery outpatient department. This role is pivotal to setting standards and the post holder will be a role model and source of nursing expertise and specialist knowledge. You will ensure your team consistently deliver exceptional, patient centred care adhering to all local and trust policies, guidelines and best practices.
