Job summary
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are currently undergoing some exciting
changes in patient safety. This includes the development of a new Quality
Governance and Assurance Unit and implementation of new ways of working in
accordance with NHSE Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
The Patient Safety Team are looking for a dedicated, passionate,
hardworking and friendly individual for a new role within this fast developing

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to
strengthen the nursing contribution to enable the required developments that
will take this service and the Trust to the next level, supporting the Trust
journey to Good. This will be achieved through a commitment to delivery best
practice and to achieve the highest care standards, striving for excellence at
all times.
You will:
Support senior colleagues in new ways of
working in accordance with PSIRF and will have an opportunity to work closely
with divisional colleagues on the practical application of methodologies,
supporting them with a compassionate leadership approach.
Ensure that continuous learning from patient
safety events is championed and a
Quality Improvement approach becomes the norm.
Be responsible for reviewing patient safety
incidents and ensuring appropriate escalations are applied, supporting process
for the Incident Review Panel.
Contribute practically to support the
production of material for learning from incidents, complaints and claims (ie.
Patient Safety Bulletins and 5 in 5 Learning).
Deliver on the team educational programme on
key safety and governance topics.
Contribute to key governance and assurance
related activities which include following process for monitoring of standards,
facilitating the production of information that provides assurance (CQC, Execs,
Trust Board). This includes the team Audit programme.
