Applications are invited to apply for a Respiratory consultant with special interest in allergy (9.1 PA) within the department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). The post is suitable for a candidate with a specialist interest in allergy and asthma. NUH provide a wide range of outpatient services for Respiratory and Allergy patients from within Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands region.
The appointee will join a team of 5 substantive consultants.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work with the Respiratory and Clinical Immunology and Allergy Consultant team to give professional direction and clinical leadership for specialist Allergy services with additional input into the care of patients with asthma. This will include supervision and management of patients with allergic conditions and asthma, contributing to achieving the standards required to maintain IQAS accreditation. The main part of the post will be supporting the allergy services including challenge day case. The role will include a weekly respiratory clinic with specific focus on asthma and ILO. In addition, they will contribute to teaching, clinical governance, and audit. You will be fully registered with the GMC.
NUH is committed to supporting and developing new consultants with directed training opportunities, a mentorship scheme and 2.0 SPAs in their first year (subject to review) to allow the pursuit of relevant new skills.
