Job summary
We are looking for a locum consultant in Gynae Oncology to join our team, for 6 months.
The successful candidate will be joining the other four gynaecological oncologists - Miss Karin Williamson, Mr David Nunns, Mr Ben Wormald and Mr Ketankumar Gajjar.
Gynaecological oncology service is based at the City Hospital site of Nottingham University Hospital where all the outpatient and in-patient services are carried out. The team is very well supported by 2 clinical oncologists and 2 Medical Oncologist who deliver chemotherapy and radiotherapy services. There is a new state-of-the-art new Radiotherapy suite on site. We are a large Cancer Centre that caters for the population of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire with population estimate of 2 million and over 400 new gynaecological cancer cases every year. With a dedicated team of research staff including research nurse specialists, we are one of the biggest recruiters in the UK to both surgical and clinical trials. We currently perform a wide range of gynaecological oncology surgeries that include minimally invasive surgery for endometrial and cervical cancers with a 3D high definition camera and maximal efforts ovarian cancer debulking surgery (ultra-radical debulking) with excellent ITU support. We were one of the biggest recruiters to the GROINNS and the UKCTOCS trials and currently recruit to DETECT-2 and RocKets trials. The department has a gynaecological cancer robot service with dedicated robot sessions.
