A post has become available within our Medical Imaging Directorate for a qualified, experienced Senior Medical Photographer with NHS experience, to assist and support the small Medical Photography team.
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated and highly organised individual to work within our existing team, helping to maintain the efficient running of the service.
You must have a flexible approach and be able to work under your own initiative.
You will need to be a dedicated team player who has the ability to work professionally at all times, in a sometimes stressful environment.
Experience in all aspects of Ophthalmology photography is desirable
Experience using CRIS and PACS would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, high quality Medical Illustration Service to Barnsley Hospital including clinical photography, general photography, image management, video production for patient record, research, education, publication and public relations.
You will provide a comprehensive diagnostic digital ophthalmic retinal photography service, including fundus oculi and fluorescein angiography at the Alhambra Centre which is located in Barnsley Town Centre, part of the Health on the High Street initiative.
It is essential that you have the experience to provide a comprehensive range of medical photography procedures without supervision both within the department in a dedicated studio and in clinics, wards, theatres and the Alhambra Centre according to a patients clinical urgency.
You will need to be an effective communicator with the ability to liaise with many different stakeholders both internal and external to the Trust in order to maintain our high standards and support the continued development of the Medical Photography service
