Job summary

We would welcome an enthusiastic and highly motivated Orthoptist to join the Orthoptic team at Barnsley. We have recently moved into a brand new department in Barnsley town centre.

The Barnsley orthoptic department is very busy, we run paediatric and adult clinics and also low vision clinics. We have the support of an optometrist and two paediatric consultants.

We also run an Orthoptic led vision screening service to all reception ages children that are registered with a Barnsley GP.

As a department we use OpenEyes for our patient records.

Main duties of the job

The candidate would be expected to assess all ages of patients requiring an Orthoptic assessment.

We require the candidate to use their own initiative in dealing with day to day tasks.
