An exciting 9 months fixed term opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic registered nurse to join our team within the theatre complex. The Post-operative care unit is a very busy, ever evolving unit. The department runs a 7-day service and is responsible for the recovery of all patients following surgery including maternity, trauma and emergency services.
Main duties of the job
The main duty is to adhere to NMC and AFPP guidelines of good practice supporting safe and effective post anaesthetic care.
Working closely within the MDT to achieve positive patient outcomes and satisfaction. Contributing to quality improvements. Developing and enhancing skills and knowledge of others and self. Promoting best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice. Applying legislation. Policies and procedures correctly. Respecting the patients dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.
PACU practitioners provide safe care and support people requiring elective and emergency surgical care.
