Seeking a Dynamic deputy team lead to work with us here at the Renal Unit RCHT. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Unit Manger and deputy team by overseeing day to day operations of the Renal Unit, leading and mentoring the nursing team and ensuring high standards of patient care are delivered in a complex and demanding environment. This role involves clinical responsibility, team management, contributing to professional development, and deputising for the senior leadership when necessary.
Main duties of the job
Guiding and supporting the team in providing high-quality renal care, ensuring safety and effectiveness, and acting as a positive role model.
Mentoring, developing, and motivating junior staff, and providing guidance on best practices and standards.
Assisting the unit manager with the smooth running of the department, including managing resources, schedules, and workload effectively.
Championing patient-centred care, assessing and planning treatment.
Contributing to the learning and development of staff and learners.
Deputising, taking on the responsibilities of the unit manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of service.
Experience in caring for patients requiring dialysis or other renal treatments is desirable.
Demonstrates leadership, motivational, and effective verbal and written communication skills to guide the team.
Able to manage time productively, plan effectively, and coordinate care for a group of patients. Ensures effective day to day management of resources; (including stores supplies pharmacy and maintenance of equipment).
Strong skills in identifying and resolving issues and making effective decisions within the scope of the role.
Competency in using relevant IT systems within the department.
Demonstrate a "can do attitude" consistent with RCHT values.
