Job summary

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual for the post of Personal Medical Secretary within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital. You will possess excellent communication skills and be a forward thinker, with a pro-active approach to problem solving.

You will be predominantly based at Sunderland, however you would be expected to cover other areas across the Sunderland and South Tyneside sites to support service needs.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must have excellent organisational skills, be educated to GCSE standard, RSA 3 or AMSPAR qualification or equivalent, knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (including Outlook and Excel), be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, prioritise and manage a busy workload, excellent telephone manner and be committed to delivering the best care to patients. Experience of audio typing is essential to this role and a typing test will form part of the interview process.

The ability to work comfortably within a large team is essential for this role.
