We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist to join our recently integrated Community Podiatry and Diabetes Care For You (DCFY) Podiatry service supporting communities across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.
We also welcome applications from newly qualified or less experienced Podiatrists for a Band 5/6 development role, with a structured support and development programme to help you progress to Band 6.
The post will be primary based at Brighton General Hospital, however there will be a requirement to travel to satellite clinics across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. Therefore, a full driving license and access to a suitable vehicle is a key requirement for this role.
What we're looking for:
- HCPC-registered Podiatrist.
- For Band 6: Demonstrable post-registration experience in a range of clinical areas, including high-risk foot care.
- For Band 5: A newly qualified or early-career Podiatrist with a commitment to learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work flexibly across different clinical environments.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will:
- Deliver high-quality podiatric care to a diverse caseload, including patients with diabetes, chronic neuropathy, vascular conditions, and basic wound care needs.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across a variety of settings including community clinics, patients' homes, residential homes, and hospital clinics.
- Undertake domiciliary visits for housebound patients (non-complex cases).
- Develop and implement individualised care plans under the guidance of Specialist Lead Podiatrists.
- Participate in service development initiatives and clinical supervision.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure equipment and stock are managed in line with departmental protocols.

- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate podiatric care for patients with diverse clinical needs, including:
