Job summary
We are seeking compassionate, reliable and motivated Bank Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our temporary staffing workforce. This is an excellent opportunity to work flexibly across a variety of clinical areas while supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
As a Bank HCA, you will work alongside registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and compassionate care to patients across our wards.
Main duties of the job
Your key responsibilities will include:
Patient Care
- Deliver direct care and emotional support to patients in line with Trust policies and procedures
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, nutrition and mobility
- Support a patient-centred approach to care delivery
- Monitor and record basic observations (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure) once trained
- Report any changes in a patients condition to a registered nurse promptly
Supporting Clinical Teams
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure safe and effective care
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the ward as delegated
- Attend ward handovers and contribute to care planning
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with national and Trust standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues, adapting your approach to meet individual needs
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Trust policies, procedures and infection prevention guidelines
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Complete mandatory training and participate in ongoing professional development
