Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead on sacral nerve stimulation, in the urology department at University Hospitals Birmingham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The post is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working closely with a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Urological Consultants, Outpatient, theatre and Ward Staff.
Applications are invited from nurses who are dynamic and forward thinking, with an interest in developing new skills and have the ability to deliver high quality patient centred care in an inpatient and outpatient setting. The successful candidate will require urology experience. Practice is protocol driven and the successful applicant will be given full training to deliver the care and investigations required. This will allow development of new skills, which are transferable to many different areas of nursing, and would be an asset to any nursing career.
Part of the role would involve helping with the day-to-day team management.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this job will involve delivering care to patients undergoing sacral Nerve stimulation and complexed benign urology surgery like for Enterocystoplasty and Mitrofanoff
Training will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure they have the necessary skills to deliver these clinics. But urology CNS experience is essential.
We are looking for a well organised empathetic individual who is able to be self-driven and work autonomously following protocols in clinic, whilst contributing to the wider multidisciplinary urology team.

Essential
- *Registered Adult / Child Nurse on the NMC Register. -- ( field dependent upon role )
- *Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to degree / masters level equivalent FHEQ Level 6 /7
- *Recognised mentorship course
- *Non-medical prescriber or willing to work towards ( where applicable to role )
- *Urology CNS experience
