Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic full time Band 3 supervisor to join our team in outpatients at Good Hope
The applicant will be responsible to support the team leader in the day-to-day management of staff in Ophthalmology, Trauma & Orthopaedics Orthodontics and Paediatrics
This role will be pivotal in managing the training and development of staff in an efficient and proactive manner.
The role requires a friendly individual who can work as part of a team, effectively communicate with staff and visitors at all levels, and to manage a highly detailed and varied workload.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role as follows:
daily support to the team leader
Create documents / spreadsheets / reports as required using IT Systems
Use Trust systems to input electronic data as required
To exercise initiative and judgement based on acquired knowledge and experience when dealing with enquiries
Receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries as appropriate
To assist colleagues as directed by the team leader in times of pressure of work
Co-operate in the induction of new staff and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department
Understanding of the Health roster, AL and sickness management is an advantage
You must possess excellent keyboard and IT skills and be able to manage and prioritise your own workload and respond well under pressure.
It's essential you are fully trained on Oceano, Optims and partial booking
Knowledge of outpatient bookings and HR procedures is an advantage
Candidates should have experience undertaking a range of administrative duties and have excellent communication skills.
They should also have good numerical skills, be self-motivated and able to multi-task.
