Are you looking to progress to a B6 Occupational Therapy position in an innovative, multi functional team where you can expand your skills across urgent care, community hospital therapy, hospital discharge pathways and community rehabilitation.
We are based at Abbeyrise in the centre of the historic and beautiful town of Tavistock and our offices are alongside the river, providing a relaxing and scenic environment for those lunch time breaks. There are also a number of tasty food outlets for those days when you just want to treat yourself and order lunch in. At Abbeyrise, we generally have a Friday food delivery and take time out together; this provides a good opportunity to check in with each other and ensure everyone is ready for putting their work aside and enjoying the weekend.
Rehabilitation is delivered in a number of ways;
Urgent Care and Home First- urgent intervention service delivered by Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Therapy Support Workers. Close working relationships with the Health & Social Care Hub, Rapid Response Services, District Nurses and Healthy Ageing Team.
Rehabilitation within the patients own home assessing and treating a variety of conditions e.g neurological, long term conditions, orthopaedic, frail elderly, multi-pathology, falls.
Tavistock Hospital; GP led 15 bedded rehabilitation Unit, working as a team of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nurses, Therapy Support Worker and Social Worker.
Main duties of the job

We are extremely lucky to work in an area of outstanding natural beauty, based on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Many of our patients live in rural locations, so having the ability to travel to these patients will be essential for this post.
Within your role as Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will be expected to provide Caseload supervision for junior staff, to participate in student education and be actively involved in service developments.
