Job summary
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Senior Finance and Projects Support Officer to join our Learning & Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing financial operations, supporting innovative projects, and helping to ensure that CSH Surrey colleagues remain at the forefront of service excellence.
In this role, you will lead on financial administrative duties such as auditing, data analysis, and reporting, while also contributing to project coordination, placement management, and the identification of new funding opportunities

Main duties of the job
- Oversee and maintain all L&D financial activity, including Integrated Care System (ICS) / NHS England (NHSE) funding, apprenticeship levy, and training allocations.
- Co-ordinate financial processes including requisitions, invoices, sales orders, and budget tracking in collaboration with Finance and Procurement teams.
- Support the Placement Education Lead with student and apprentice placements, ensuring accurate record keeping and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Produce project documentation such as initiation plans, risk logs, and reports, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready databases for funding, expenditure, and education contracts.
- Support data processing for NHSE training commissions and quarterly Education Contract funding.
- Assist in annual training needs analysis and quality audits to meet contractual and organisational requirements.
- Identify and support opportunities for additional or innovative funding to enhance learning and development capacity.

keeping underpinning L&D Manager strategic reporting requirements.

To co-ordinate and manage financial tasks for
the L&D team. This includes raising requisitions and sale orders, process
external training requests, process invoices and receipts, working with Finance
team and the L&D Manager on the monthly journal and budget.

placement and apprentice advice and support as required, including
co-ordinating work experience opportunities with both clinical and non-clinical
teams.

example: quarterly commissioning return,
Talent for Care return, annual demand scoping as required by NHSE.

documents, project plans, project reports, risk and issues log and other
documents

database to ensure accuracy of detail, status of those undertaking training,
estimation of placement tariff

To co-ordinate the training and development
opportunities within the scope of the financial envelope that is available to
CSH Surrey.

that will enhance the financial envelope available to CSH Surrey and therefore
increase availability to support further development and training.

orders, credit card requests, invoices on SBS Oracle, monitoring and receipting
as required and maintaining spend on database

To maintain up to date data of budgets including
expenses, support forecasting of future training and apprenticeship levy spend.

Apprenticeship Service (DAS) managing apprenticeships and understanding how the
apprenticeship levy works.

delivery, review and reporting of existing and emerging project work.

organisation to meet its obligations within local contracts

across all teams, scoping new courses where demanded to support the delivery of
the NHS 10-year plan.
