Job summary

Join us as a Wellbeing Practitioner at Alexandra Wellbeing House, where we offer a safe and restorative environment for people experiencing acute emotional distress. This is a meaningful opportunity to support individuals at vulnerable moments in their lives, working in close partnership with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

In this role, you will provide personalised, non-clinical wellbeing support, helping people regain stability, build confidence, and develop practical strategies that promote their ongoing recovery. You will work collaboratively with NHS Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams, ensuring clear pathways, timely assessments and a seamless, person-centred experience for those who access the service.

Main duties of the job

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will provide personalised, practical support to individuals experiencing acute emotional distress during short stays at Alexandra Wellbeing House. Your work will involve guiding people through periods of difficulty, helping them identify their strengths, set achievable goals, and develop safety plans that promote stability and confidence.

You will collaborate closely with NHS crisis teams and internal colleagues to ensure smooth referrals, timely assessments, and a cohesive support journey for each person who accesses the service. Alongside one-to-one wellbeing work, you will help maintain a calm, safe, and welcoming environment within the house, contributing to its daily running and overall atmosphere.

The role also includes engaging with community partners, helping to raise awareness of the service, and supporting group activities that enhance coping skills, resilience, and connection. You will use organisational systems responsibly to keep accurate records and uphold high standards of professionalism.

This is a hands-on, people-focused role where your presence, judgement, and support will make a meaningful difference every day.

  4. Health and Safety: Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within the house.

  5. Promotion & Networking: Build relationships with external stakeholders and promote the service across the community.

  6. Group Facilitation: Set up and run group sessions aimed at improving wellbeing and resilience.

  7. ICT Systems: Maintain accurate, high-quality records in accordance with organisational policies.

  8. Creating a Welcoming Environment: Contribute to a friendly, empowering atmosphere for all service users.
