Main duties of the job

MAIN PURPOSE

The Safeguarding and Partnership Lead will provide expert guidance on safeguarding matters across the hospital. This role will ensure the hospital meets its statutory responsibilities to safeguard adults at risk, while fostering strong multi-agency partnerships to improve safeguarding outcomes.

To liaise and maintain contact with external stakeholders, including families, health professionals, and local authorities.

Job responsibilities

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To act as the Hospital safeguarding champion, promoting a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.

  • Provide Hospital Leadership Team with specialist advice, including regulatory matters and patient safety in relation to safeguarding concerns within the Hospital.

  • Act as the single point of contact for all external safeguarding partners including Local Authorities, Police, ICSs, and voluntary sector organisations, liaising with the Hospital Leadership Team to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and effective way.

  • Attend as required by the Registered Manager to attend multi-agency safeguarding meetings and contribute to case reviews.

  • Monitor safeguarding activity and performance, producing reports for the Hospital Leadership Team as required.

  • To work alongside the Hospital Leadership Team to ensure learning from safeguarding reviews is embedded into practice across the Hospital.

  • Deliver and oversee local safeguarding information sessions across the Hospital.

  • To work with external agencies to develop discharge packages from admission.

  • To act as family liaison lead to ensure effective communication with family members/advocates of patients within the Hospital.

  • To attend meetings with associate Hospital Managers as and when directed to update on patients.

  • To undertake, any reasonable travelling requirements, in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.

To undertake, any other duties as may be required.
