Job summary
To coordinate and take overall responsibility
for both clinical and non-clinical rotas.
Coordinate appointments in line with clinician
responsibilities, managing DNA appointments and reflecting annual leave/
absences in appointment availability.
Work with on call team to support reception in
making appointments in a timely manner. Making sure that all appointments are
filled and support administrative teams in making sure patients are seen in a
timely manner where needed.
Oversight of problems and liaising with the
line manager when locums are needed or changes being made to the rota.
Main duties of the job
Rota
coordinator is responsible for:
Compiling administration and clinical staff rotas
Reviewing and updating all rota policies and procedures as required to support
the management team
Supporting the management team in the compilation of
practice reports and the practice development plan as needed
Coordinating the provision of temporary administrative
and Locum staff, ensuring sufficient cover is provided for periods of leave and
other staff absences
Updating the appointment system to reflect leave and
other approved absences
Monitoring DNA appointments and following procedure on
managing these.
Making sure all appointments are filled, liaising with
patients directly to fill these and working with the admin team to make sure
any pending appointment needs are included where able eg from tasks or chronic
disease reviews.
