Job summary

An exciting new vacancy has arisen within Chelford Surgery to help manage administrative workflows within the practice and is a hybrid role to support both the practice secretaries and the administration workflow team for document management. The role gives an opportunity to help shape the future of document workflow processes in the practice, and be part of a forward thinking team.

This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026 and is subject to ARRS funding.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are to manage the incoming patient related documentation to the practice. Organise the scanning and filing to the patient clinical record, ensuring that it is sent to the appropriate clinician or team for further review and coding.

You will be responsible for assisting the Administration Management Team and Clinical lead to implement a new process of workflow for documentation. You will then continue delivering the workflow processes as part of the team.

About us

Chelford surgery is a rural dispensing practice within Cheshire providing services to 4,800 patients. We are 1 of 5 practices that form the CHAW PCN. The practice is involved and provides a lead role for research within the PCN. We also provide medical services for the David Lewis Centre situated nearby.

  • Previous experience in a medical administrative role
  • Experience managing and prioritising a varied workload in a busy office environment
  • Experience working in a GP practice or NHS setting
  • Experience using EMIS and other similar clinical systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • GCSE Mathematics and English (C/4 or above)
  • Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
