Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our nursing team at our busy, forward thinking GP Surgery in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. The role is for 23.75 hours per week; Monday, Thursday, Friday and 2 Saturday mornings a month.
You will be supported by a team of excellent specialist nurses, healthcare assistants, general practice associates, an advanced in house pharmacy team and excellent liaison with our GPs, ANPs and community teams.
We are seeking enthusiastic applicants who will ideally have experience in diabetic management as well as other fields of practice nursing including; cytology, vaccinations, wound care and treatment of long term conditions. However, if you need to up-skill in certain areas, we can provide training and mentorship for the right candidate looking to further their practice nursing career.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified registered first level Nurse ideally with experience in primary care.
Main duties of the job
Provide a range of nursing services, including diabetic care, venepuncture, ECG measurement, blood pressure measurement, urinalysis, injections, swabs, health checks, suture removal, wound care.
Assist clinician team with minor surgery and coil fittings.
Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
Monitor QOF targets as required and maintain a high standard of achievement.
Provide nursing input to any decision making processes affecting the care of the patients.
Maintain the treatment room: this includes ensuring that the room is tidy and clean at all times, that stock levels are maintained and items are rotated as necessary and maintain and clean any equipment used by the nurses.
