Working under indirect
supervision of the Lead Practice Nurse, or as delegated to nursing team member and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the
Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision
and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. With very varied Duties and responsibilities.

Chaperoning

Medicines,
consumablesand medical equipment ordering & management including
emergency medication
Cleansing
and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold
chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical
equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing
and re-stocking consulting rooms of consumables and other requested items
Preparing
and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient
care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor
operations
Lead
on NHS health checks & Learning Disabilities
Helping
to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Ear
syringing
Administer
medications by injection with the appropriate legal authorisation
Minor
woundcare
Assisting
the GP in minor operations clinics
Chronic
Disease Management recall systems
PPA
collection & collation
Assist the Lead Nurse and Business Manager as
directed
Assist with preparation and minute taking of
Palliative Care meetings
Duties may be varied from time to time under the
direction of the Lead Nurse and Business
Manager, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing
levels:
About us
We are a medium size surgery with around 10,000
patients based in Hove. Our current nurse team consists of 3 nurses and 1
HCA. We seek an enthusiastic HCA to join our team and are happy to offer
relevant training to the right qualified person. As a teaching practice we are
keen support staff in their development.
