A fantastic opportunity to join a high performing GP surgery, looking expand our Nursing team and welcome a new Nurse Practitioner.
We are seeking someone to work ideally full time but we are flexible. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our forward thinking, dynamic team at Harborough Field Surgery to enhance our team and help us further develop our philosophy of integrated multi-disciplinary working.
Main duties of the job
We are interested in an experienced nurse with advanced clinical skills and a preferably a prescribing qualification although this is not essential. General practice experience would be beneficial. You will be expected to help provide the urgent on the day team service for our patients. This involves minor ailments but an understanding of long term conditions would be beneficial.
This may be by face to face consultation or telephone consultation. Senior clinician support for this role is available whenever needed but it is expected that you will have the skills to work independently
About us
Located on the outskirts of Rushden in a purpose built medical centre which opened in 2006, the surgery boasts 9 doctors, currently serving a population of some 13,500 patients.
Clinically the doctors are supported by a Clinical Pharmacist, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Treatment Room Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant and 2 Nursing Assocaites. We also have access to a First Contact Physiotherapist, a Paramedic Home Visiting service, daily Paediatric Nurse clinics, a Social Prescriber and Care Coordinators for our care home residents and elderly, frail patients.
Our Practice Manager is supported by an Operations Manager and our Administrative support team includes 8 Receptionists and 7 Administrator/Secretaries. The surgery is a training practice and hosts GP Trainees and Medical Students from Cambridge University. The surgery hosts the GP Enahnced Access Service and is also a vaccination centre for East Northants.

To act as an autonomous Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner who is able to work independently and in conjunction with other members of the clinical team. The post holder will be an experienced, caring person who can demonstrate highly developed clinical skills and be able to demonstrate critical thinking whilst working within their professional boundaries.
You will be able to demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and deliver expert care, including history taking, assessment, diagnostic skills, treatment and evaluation. You will provide an alternative and complementary source of primary health care alongside services provided by General Practitioners.
You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. In order to work at this level, relevant professional requirements for advanced practice must be met.
