Job summary

Admin/Receptionist (Part-Time) Chelsea Medical Service

Join our small, friendly, two-partner GP practice in South Kensington.

We are Chelsea Medical Service a welcoming practice with just under 3,500 patients. We are small enough to know our team personally, but busy enough to keep you motivated.

The Role

We are looking for a part-time Admin/Receptionist to work alongside our Practice Manager and two GP Partners. You will be the friendly face patients see and the efficient hands behind our admin.

Hours:Monday 1pm6:30pmTuesday 1pm6:30pmWednesday 8am12:30pmThursday 1pm6:30pmFriday 1pm6:30pm

What you will do:

  • Reception duties greeting patients, answering calls, booking appointments

  • Patient registrations and deductions

  • QOF, screening recalls (diabetic eye, smears)

  • SystemOne tasks, referrals, and 2ww tracking

  • Supporting the Practice Manager with projects and operations

Who we are looking for:

We strongly prefer candidates with previous NHS general practice experience. However, we will also consider those who can clearly demonstrate transferable skills such as strong administration, customer service, organisation, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Why join us?

  • Genuinely friendly and supportive team

  • Varied role no two days are the same

  • Great location in South Kensington

If you have the right skills and attitude, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

You will be the warm welcome patients remember and the reliable support our team depends on.

On reception, you will greet patients face-to-face, answer phone calls, book and cancel appointments, and handle queries with patience and professionalism.

In admin, you will keep the practice running smoothly. This includes processing patient registrations and deductions, running QOF recalls (diabetic eye screening, smears), chasing outstanding referrals, and tracking 2ww pathways. You will also clear SystemOne tasks, assist with dictation, and support the Practice Manager with monthly compliance checks like fire extinguisher logs and stationery orders.

No two days are the same. One moment you are helping a patient at the desk, the next you are updating a dashboard or sending patient letters.

This role is varied, rewarding, and perfect for someone who enjoys both people-facing and desk-based work. You will work closely with a small, friendly team who support each other every day.

About us

Chelsea Medical Service is a small, two-partner GP practice based in South Kensington. We serve just under 3,500 patients small enough to offer genuine continuity of care, but busy enough to keep you on your toes.

Our Team

We are led by two dedicated GP Partners Dr Melisseidi and Dr Gill and our Practice Manager, Antonica DaCosta. The wider team includes senior admin and reception staff, plus clinical colleagues who are always supportive. Everyone knows everyone. There are no big corporate layers.

The Atmosphere

We are friendly, professional, and we look out for one another. We expect hard work and reliability, but we also believe in treating people well. If something goes wrong, we problem-solve together. If someone needs help, we step in.

Work Ethic

We take patient care seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We need someone organised, calm under pressure, and happy to muck in. In return, you will be respected and listened to.

Benefits of Working With Us

  • Genuinely supportive and friendly team

  • Varied role with both reception and admin duties

  • Opportunity to learn and develop

  • Great location in South Kensington

  • Small practice where your contribution is seen and valued

We are not a huge impersonal organisation. We are a team. And we would love you to join us.
