Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be integral to the smooth running of our clinical services. Your main duties will include:
Phlebotomy: Performing venipuncture in accordance with practice protocols and ensuring samples are correctly labeled and processed.
Physiological Measurements: Accurately performing and recording a range of clinical measurements, including:
Electrocardiograms (ECGs): Performing 12-lead ECGs as requested by clinicians.
Blood Pressure Checks (BP): Routine and monitoring blood pressure measurements.
Measurements: Accurately measuring and recording patients' height, weight, and calculating Body Mass Index (BMI).
Assisting the Nursing Team: Providing direct support to Practice Nurses and GPs during clinical procedures, ensuring the clinic rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for use.
Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Better Quality Care (BQC) Work: Assisting with tasks related to QOF and BQC targets, such as reviewing patient notes, performing recall processes, and ensuring preventative health checks (e.g., foot checks, lifestyle assessments) are completed for chronic disease management patients.
Clinical Coding: Accurately and efficiently entering clinical data and codes into patient electronic records (EMIS) to ensure records are up-to-date and complete for auditing and clinical purposes.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to providing patient care in a compassionate and professional manner.

We serve approximately 12,200 patients across two sites: our main centre in Harwood and a branch in Tonge Moor.
As a Training Practice, we actively teach trainee GPs and medical students, ensuring we stay current with clinical best practice. We hold an overall 'Good' CQC rating.
You will join a large, multi-disciplinary team, including GPs, ACPs, Nurses, and Pharmacists, operating within the Turton Primary Care Network (PCN). This is a professional and supportive environment committed to continuous improvement and community well-being.
